Peter Derendinger

Peter is a founding partner of Amundi Alpha Associates. He led the management buyout of Alpha Associates from Swiss Life in April 2004 and leads the strategy and operations of Amundi Alpha Associates following the acquisition by Amundi in 2024. Prior to the team’s spin-out from Swiss Life Private Equity Partners (SLPEP) he was a member and delegate of the board of directors of SLPEP and responsible for the operations of the company from May 2003 to April 2004.

After starting his career as an attorney-at-law, Peter held several positions with Credit Suisse, where his last assignment was as Chief Financial Officer and Head of the Corporate Center at Credit Suisse Private Banking. Earlier appointments include Managing Director and General Counsel of Credit Suisse Group and Head of Legal and Tax at Credit Suisse First Boston (Europe) in the early 1990s. Peter was Chairman of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) AG until 2023 and a member of the Board of Directors of UBS Switzerland AG until 2025. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of several other financial institutions and portfolio companies and organizations.

He holds a Ph.D. in law from the University of Fribourg and a Master of Laws from Northwestern University, Chicago.
