James Moore

James is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpha Associates. He was previously a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of the Private Funds Group (PFG) at UBS Investment Bank. Having joined SG Warburg in 1994, which became part of what is UBS today, he co-founded PFG in 1998. It rapidly became a global leading specialist in capital raising for private market strategies. He retired from the bank at the end of 2017. Today he dedicates much of his time to providing strategic and financial support and advice to environmental technology start-ups. Prior to finance James served as an officer in the British Army from 1982-1990. He completed the military service as a Captain with the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards. He then established and ran an oilfield services company in the Republic of Yemen providing security services to oil majors until the outbreak of civil war at the end of 1993. He is a graduate of Exeter University and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
